Doris Maritime Services S.A. (DORIS) is a Geneva (Switzerland) based company specialised in the management of ocean-going vessels, especially container feeder ships and bulk carriers.

It has also acquired an in-depth knowledge of the container shipping business through a subsidiary multimodal container liner operation and container terminal operations.

The company was established in 1983 by Nicolas Wirth, a graduate in Maritime Studies with a wide experience of all aspects of ships' technical and commercial management. He heads a team of highly experienced and dedicated professionals handling the technical, commercial and financial management of ships sailing world-wide. Through close communication and co-operation with the skilled shipboard staff, a high standard of safety, operation & maintenance is reached.

The result is that the annual off-hire time, scheduled docking and the running costs of the ships are very competitive. In fact, it is Doris' experience that through the constant reassessment of all cost factors and state of the art management, operational costs well below competitors' levels are ensured.

Since 1992, the average number of operating days per ship at DORIS is 357 days per annum.

Both the management team and the seagoing staff have developed special expertise in managing smaller ships and amongst others Doris is particularly good at operating container feeders. The company's staff has also acquired a wealth of experience in insurance matters, resolving litigation and claims in the maritime field and is regularly called upon for specialist advice in this area.
